“Kings of The Hill” (Oak Hill)

For what has seemed like generations the top high school players have attented Oak Hill Academy. You don’t believe me? Look at these great players who have attended: Rajon Rondo, Josh Smith, Brandon Jennings, Carmelo Anthony, and Jerry Stackhouse. Oak Hill sure is “at the top of the hill” in high school basketball.

Brandon at Oak Hill

How could there be so many good players coming out of this school? They don’t come from the school directly. Melo grew up in Baltimore, Brandon grew up in L.A., and Josh grew up in Atlanta alongside Dwight Howard. What makes the “Hill” such a great place? Its basketball history. Who wouldn’t wanna go to a school Carmelo Anthony attended? These alumni and the famous coaches make Oak Hill a basketball destination.

LeBron and Dwayne

LeBron and Dwayne are great friends, but the people in Philips Arena took it too far.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARwB2nITu78

My Ultimate Team

I am very sorry, that i didn’t have this out earlier I have been working on my new site “The Time Has Come” lately and this site because I don’t get many replies anymore. Thanks for understanding.

5. Josh Smith and Danny Granger

There are many debates that Josh should be considered a SF or a PF. I think he is so neutural though that he can be considered as both. J-Smooth has one of the greatest leaping abilities of any basketaball player ever. He doesn’t usually dunk with strength, but more with style. He is a great defensive presence and a wonderful shot-blocker. This is why Josh is here at number five.

5. Danny Granger

I just like Danny and Josh so much that I put them both here. Danny is much different than Josh though, Danny isn’t a go dunk kind of guy he is a shoot the lights out kind of guy. Granger has a great shot spot on, great base, and great hands. The one thing about the man hardly anyone has ever heard of is that he is not a franchise player. Danny showed this season that he can put up points, but if the Pacers are gonna be competing against the Chicago Bulls again that they need another star. The star that could petentionally play for Pacers would probably be in this year’s or next year’s free agency market.

4. Paul Pierce

Paul is very similar to Danny, except he does wanna really take it to the basket. Paul Pierce is a huge threat because he can take you to the rack or hit you with his off-form jump-shot. Paul Pierce really turned inot the threat though when he was joined by the rest of the “Green Machine” creating one of the best teams to walk the planet, the Boston Celtics. I would highly desire Paul to any team I might create or manage. Paul also is a great leader, has great veteran isntensity, and can win the championship ring. Paul pierce would be an excellent choice for anybody, except if you are Lakers fan, then you may wanna go with Ron Artest.

3. Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony has always been one of the best small forwards ever since he started his career at Syracuse, but he greatly elevated his status when he and his Denver buddy, Chauncey Billups, got together with Amar’e Stoudamire and the New York Knicks. Ever since that happened Melo has been getting closer and closer to a ring, but fell to the Celtics in the playoffs. Now Carmelo is back again and ready to bring some surious hurt to the now aging Boston Celtics. If Carmelo can handle the Green Foursome than he will be crowned king of Northeastern basketball.

2. Kevin Durant

Oklahoma City small forward, Kevin Durant has been doubted ever since his first high school all-star apperance, but let me tell you this Kevin didn’t listen to it. Kevin knew, even back then, that he would someday be a NBA superstar and that his autograph would be higher-priced every tome he got closer to the NBA Finals. Well now that is true Kevin is one of the best players in the NBA and is great to start a franchise with wether you managing a real team or a fantsay team. Kevin has a great shot, great athletic abilities, and great attitude, but unlike our next option he doesn’t have alot of shiny dunking abilities.

1. LeBron James

When people hear LeBron’s name they thikn that guys is a loser, but LeBron has accomplished almost anything anybody else would want to accomplish. I know that LeBron James will one day have a championship and that, that will not be his only. I know this because He led a team like the Cleveland Cavalaiers, one of the worst teams in the NBA last season to the NBA Finals, that is amazing. The reason he doesn’t have a ring is because of his team not himself. When you are on a team you win and lose as a team. One player is not reason they lost to Dirk, it was the whole team’s fault. Not everyone on the team stood up to their expected position. LeBron is the best player in the NBA rings or no rings. He is athletic, can get on a hot streak, a terrific leader, and is one of the strongest players in the NBA. This is why he would be the key player to my franchise/team and why he would be my top pick at small forward.

Please, don’t cuss me out for liking LeBron.

Make sure to look for my top five picks at shooting guard.

My Ultimate Team

I owe the credit of this idea to my friend at Hardwood Classics, Bobby Charts. Thanks for the insperation fellow C-Webb fan.

Today, I will start with my top five options for a center.

1.  Dwight Howard

Of course, my first pick would be Dwight Howard. I really don’t know anyone who doesn’t like “Baby Shaq”, so that pick is pretty obvious for anybody. My only disregard is his fouling. I understand his style of getting angry easily, because I do too, but he can not let people do that to him it cost him big games. Otherwise he is an awesome center for this generation of ballers.

2. DeMarcus Cousins

I know everyone is thinking, what the heck, but if you think about Cousins is really a dominate guy. He is a great blocker and dunker. He reminds me more of the late, great Shaquille O’Neal more than anyone else. Same body and everything, the only difference his attitude. DeMarcus is a fiery baller, as Kings fans would know, and does not like to be told what to do a lot. When he overcomes this, if he does, instant all-star starting center spot for the Western Conference.

3. Nene Hilario

Once again, people probably think that I am crazy, but every time I see Nene I watch in awe. He is a breath taking dunker and has good footwork. If the Nuggets were without Nene they would not be half as good as they are now. Nene is definitely one of the best personalities and centers in the league. He has a very good stats annd now has the chance to go to another team (via free agency).

4. Andrew Bynum

Bynum also joins the list as a guy with a bad attitude. Yet he shows us that he can make-up for that with intensity and strength. We know he is strong because the Lakers couldn’t what do they do with the “Black Swan” (Pau Gasol) at center.

5. Joakim Noah

Last, but not least, Joakim. Joakim Noah sure isn’t as raw as the rest of them, but has great hustle, on-court intensity, and locker room presence. The Bulls fans love him just as much as Derrick Rose and that says a lot about a under- rated young hustler.

Sorry, I did not include Al Horford he jsut seems more like a power forward. He is definitely a good one though.

Tomorrow look for my top five power forwards to build my ultimate team.

Lorenzen Wright Story

I just read the story of former NBA player, Memphis Tigers superstar Lorenzen Wright and mystery of his death. Check it out. Note: Very sad.   http://www.nba.com/2011/news/07/24/lorenzen-wright.ap/index.html

Smoove on The Move

Atlanta Hawks power forward Josh Smith is on the trading block right now and here are some teams he could definitely fit in with.    Enjoy!!

1.Magic- Josh already played  AAU basketball with Dwight when they were in high school for the Atlanta Celtics plus the paint would be totally covered with he and Dwight teamed up.

2.Pacers-Larry Bird is looking for talent and needs it now Josh would fit in perfectly as a Pacers star to go along with Hibbbert and Granger.

3.Blazers- Josh would fit in perfectly with Blazers the only concern is if Aldridge can play center. If they can make that work they could definitely compete for a championship.

4.Cavaliers-They just need a star. Any one could fit with the Lebron-less Cavs.

5.Rockets-Houston is looking to rebuild and J-Smoove is a great fresh start to go along with Kevin Martin.

6.Pistons-If they can get rid of Charlie, Smith would be the perfect hero for Detroit with Rip as his side-kick.
