Teams in Need of a Star

I know most basketball fans want to think about march madness, but this week is one of my favorite weeks in NBA basketball. This is trade deadline week and I am gonna do some evaluation of team needs.

1. The biggest need for any team, is the need of the Orlando Magic to trade Dwight Howard. Howard will obviously never stay in Orlando and they aren’t a team capable of beating Chicago or Miami in a series. If I were the Otis Smith (Magic’s general manager), I would pursue a trade that includes a solid big man and a talented swingman. The Magic must make a trade this week or they will be left with a team similar to the 2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers, after “The Decision.”

2. The Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers, two of the deepest teams in the NBA have the exact same need. They each need a so called, “superstar.” They both have different reasons for this need though, the Mile High City team needs a star to take that last shot, but the Bird’s team needs a star to get some fans in those many empty seats in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. There are a few available stars that could change both of these teams those stars are Monta Ellis and Josh Smith.

3. There is one team in the NBA that needs a totally new roster, the Charlotte Bobcats. The Cats should be open to any trade, the question is Michael Jordan smart enough to know a good trade from a bad trade. The funny thing is, you can make a playoff team with the players MJ has traded away: Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, and Tyson Chandler.

All these teams have their problems going into the deadline week, it will be exciting to see who gets their problems solved.

Oh, and forgot to remind those C’s fans out there not to worry about Rondo. Yeah, there are a lot of rumors, but I don’t think Danny Ainge is stupid enough to trade him.

The New Boston Celtics

I see why they call it fantasy basketball, because those teams can get really good. I currently am leading my entire league in almost every category, without the help of the injured A’mare Stoudemire. Lets take a look at my team, The New Boston Celtics.

PG Rajon Rondo

Rondo has been amazing, as of late. He is currently the best fantasy point guard, a steal that I drafted in the third round.

SG Kobe Bryant

Kobe has had a steady start to the season, even though he disappointed me last night with minus six points.

SF LeBron James

King James is unstoppable, can’t say much more.

PF A’mare Stoudemire

Even though he is injured right now, I have expected much from A’mare ever since I traded for him. I am sure he will not disappoint me.

C Emeka Okafor

Emeka started slaying people ever since I got him. I traded for him after he had a few bad games to start the season.

G Stephen Curry

Curry was also traded for when he was injured. It turns out though, that he played the night I got him. Stephen is the beast.

F Marvin Williams

My dad picked up Marv before I had a chance, but later dropped him for Darren Collison. I am so happy to have M-Will, they say he is supposed to have his best season ever. For a guy that was picked before CP3 and D-Will, Marvin will have to average at almost twenty fantasy points a game. He is doing that right now so I think its gonna happen.

UTIL Ray Allen

I traded for Ray Ray along with Okafor and can say that Ray is dead on almost every shot.

UTIL DeAndre Jordan

I was hooked on DeAndre ever since the eight block game. He will be a dominating center in the near future.

UTIL Ricky Rubio

I really didn’t know what to expect from Ricky, but his assists are good enough for me. I was gonna drop him, but after the Miami game, I learned he could also shoot the lights out. He is the closest thing to “Pistol” Pete Maravich, so I want him.

BE

Ben Gordon

Tim Duncan

Paul George

Knicks and Celtics, Half Time Thoughts

The first half of basketball is over and Rondo is dominating the game. Rajon has 19 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds, already. Carmelo is shooting better than Ray Allen last year against the Lakers and Tyson Chandler looks very happy in a Knicks’ jersey. Don’t forget to watch the half time show, currently on TNT, Shaq is by far the best analyst. Can’t wait to see the Mavericks and Heat.

Upgraded Team

I have already told you of my new fantasy basketball team, but wanted to let you know which star player, I have accquired recently. I made many moves after the draft for an elite power forward, who came as A’mare Stoudamire. I traded DeMarcus Cousins and Brandon Jennings, one hour after the draft, for Chris Bosh. I am a Bosh fan, but decided I needed a person who wasn’t the third option on their team. I had negotiated with Nik, from The News Of Sports, for quite a while, when we finally reached an agreement. I traded him Brandon Roy and Chris Bosh, for Josh Smith and Antwan Jamison. This trade turned out to be a steal for me, as Roy announced his retirement shortly after. I held on to Jamison for a couple of days until I got my friend to give me Roy Hibbert and Tim Duncan for Antwan and his Cavs buddy, Anderson Varejao. As soon as I got Hibbert, I worked a blockbuster deal with my friend, Kiefer. I traded him Corey Magette, Josh Smith, Nene Hilario, and my roll from lunch, for A’mare and DeAndre Jordan. My starting line up is now as follows:

PG Rajon Rondo

SG Kobe Bryant

SF LeBron James

PF A’mare Stoudamire

C Roy Hibbert

I have been working now to gain an elite center, such as Al Jefferson or Dwight Howard, but am getting less and less closer because other owners know that that is setting me up for a championship. The most important thing to remember is that trading is one of the biggest moves you can make in any fantasy game.

My Basketball Team

Well, you know how I asked about LeBron as my first pick right? Now it became a reality. I just drafted my team and am very excited to kick off my season. Here is my team as of right now with some info on each player.

PG Rajon Rondo

It was easy to pick Rondo. He is an assist machine. After you read about the next two players, you will know why I didn’t need another scorer. I have been looking at Rajon all week as a player and got him with the 23rd pick so I thought it was a pretty good deal.

SG Kobe Bryant

I am normally not a fan of Kobe, but I traded up in the second round to get a scorer to go with my next player. I still think Kobe is a major fantasy threat.

SF LeBron James

I am a big LeBron fan and wanted to change it up, as I had Kevin Durant last year. Nothing you can say about LeBron, as a fantasy player, since the playoffs have nothing to do with fantasy.

PF DeMarcus Cousins

Why I picked Cousins? Simple. Lots of rebounds, lots of points, and a bad team. Any other questions?

C Nene Hilario

I just can’t get enough Nene. He has been one of my favorite players for a long time and still is. You got to choose someone you really like.

That is my team in a nutshell. If you would like to know who is on my bench, just ask on the comments.

Thanks
